Just picked this up

When Nokia asked if I was interested in checking out their new N97, I readily agreed. I have my issues with the user interface. But.. Let’s give it a go and see how I get on. Who here has splurged on the N97 as yet? Will you be picking one up on Vodafone UK or AT&T?

  • AT&T will not be selling the N97 any time soon.

    Ewan,

while you're at it, if you see any nokia UK people around, please tell them to get their marketing people to get a nokia phone in Jeremy clarkson's hands. Everytime I see him talk on his Razr during Top Gear I throw up a little in my mouth. I think an n86 would be perfect as it's a straightforward phone with a great camera so he can take pics of all his great cars too
  • Milan, you make a good point. Although in the latest episode I saw he was sporting a white Apple iPhone!
  • Patryk
He used to have a black iPhone for some time from what I remember and I saw a plum N95 for a few episodes too. As for the Razr - there are bad phones, there are tragic phones, and there's the Razr. I mean, it can't even be called a phone! It's just complete bollocks, like most other Motorolas...
  • Dean Bubley picked one up right off the bat and wrote a good deal on this over at Forum Oxford. He wasn't too impressed. Battery life isn't so hot on this either...

  • I kind of like it. It's the best Nokia device so far, at least for running our app Mobile Documents on. The touch screen is much better than on the 5800 and the keyboard is nice. Overall a better phone than the E71. But there are issues... such as, I want to be able to sync it with my Mac. Meaning a no go as main mobile phone until then.
  • Peter, good to hear from you. I'm going to try syncing the N97 with Google Sync (via mail for exchange). I'll let you know how I get on...
  • Very good. I assume there will be a iSync profile shortly though.
  • Here's hoping!
