A video tour of the new DropBox iPhone app

I’m a long time user of DropBox on my desktops and laptops — I have a about 35 gig stored on the service. DropBox gives me peace of mind — my local data is constantly backed up (with multiple and, if I like, unlimited versions), my data is synched ‘live’ with as many computers as I want — and I can share folders with friends, family and colleagues easily and without any trauma whatsoever.

They’ve launched an iPhone app. And I’ve made a little video walk-through showing you just how good it is.

To view the walk-through (in flash), just press play:

I missed the ‘.com’ off the end of the video — so the link you want is www.getdropbox.com.

You can get the DropBox app in the iTunes App Store (direct link) — and get yourself a free 2GB account at www.getdropbox.com.

  1. Ewan, what are you using to record that video? It'd be super useful for us when we're demo-ing our new iphone app. It's not submitted to app store yet, so the easiest way to show others would be through a video like that.

Thanks for the dropbox app heads up, I've been waiting weeks for this thing. Dropbox keeps my entire startup (both the marketing and engineering teams) up to date with the right files.

  2. Anthony I'm using 'vency' on the iPhone. You need to jailbreak it though, install the app, get it's ip address (on wifi) and connect with a VNC client from your desktop. Then you can use any screen recorder to record your work. Or send me the app and I'll do it for you.
