David’s Land Rover S1 is on it’s way

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed the competition we’re doing in the Friday newsletter to win a gorgeous Land Rover S1 tough phone.

To enter, all you had to do was tweet a little message saying ‘I’d like to win a Land Rover S1′ along with the link and the @mobileindustry tag (so I can track the entries easily).

Then on Thursday evening I do a random calculation on a spreadsheet full of your names and woosh… out pops a winner.

The handset is a must — and absolute must — for anyone with a bit of an active lifestyle. You do not want to be taking you shiny new Nokia N900 mountain-biking. Nor do you want to take it sailing, sky diving or anything like that. You take your Land Rover S1. Because it’s virtually indestructible – and it’s waterproof. You can send text messages under water. I kid ye not. We have video proof.

The winner last week was Mr David Carrington, the chap behind the excellent Twitter-for-mobile-web service, Dabr.

Here is your phone David:

It’s on my desk right now. It just arrived from the manufacturer, Sonim, so it’ll be in the post to you tomorrow.

Meantime, if you’d like to win a Land Rover S1, then keep an eagle eye out for the instructions in this week’s newsletter (subscribe for free here).
