latest news vodafone plans to stop work on any new 360 device rather concentrate on portin the 360 service to various handsets....might take years to do this also...since already been working for around 1.5years to develop this for symbian, iphone android and java handsets...comparin how long would some small organisation take to develop and port this application...make it clear that the people who are handling this are totally clueless what they want to do.

have worked at Vodafone 360 team for a while and what i see is just managers making a mess out the projects...the client development to be specific has been so grossly mishandled....the team has been chopped and changed throughout...and more so they seem to be trying to impress the Higher management rather than building a solid product....and some doubtfull transactions where contractors are hired at above average rates and to benefit individual pockets. The blame game has begun with weird reasoning...sit back and enjoy while they make a messed up product spending millions.. which a couple of solid developers(Keep away those bullshittin managers) can do better sitting in a garage.

I am a Vodafone retail employee. The amount of grief we've had from regional managers telling us to flog this phone is unreal. Thankfully since the iPhone launched much of the pressure has been taken off but due to how faulty the H1 turned out to be, I started to refuse to even mention the H1 or M1 to customers, targets be damned. So many customers have problems with those handsets, and the 360 service is very buggy. Not to mention we've had almost zero training regarding troubleshooting, yet we're often in deaing with handset issues.

Your article was spot on, 360 will go the way of VF Live and Vizzavi. You'd think that VF would have their finger on the pulse, but they continually miss the boat.

Had a friend email me the other day asking for help with Vodafone 360. I had read about it here but never bother with it beyond that before now. He was advised to use the service when they sold him an HTC desire and he expressed concern about transferring his contacts. Can you believe that to this day they don't have a sync app for android? That's a MASSIVE FAIL from where I'm standing.

clearly Ewan you have no idea on the proposition or Vodafone marketing have done a crap job of selling it. My suggestion "try again"...that applies to you to. Have a closer look and you will find Twitter support. Before you rant on it would be great to get your facts straight. Otherwise your article I admit was a ball to read...will lose respect. Another suggestion stop being such an iPhone fan boy...we get it. Now get over it.

Everything said on this site about Vodafone 360 is spot on and refreshing to see a U.K site/blog tell it how it is. One thing that has not been discussed is the promotion of the service. Obviously the service itself is poor as has been highlighted by Ewan and to a large extent I believe the product is the marketing, as if it is brilliant and exceed expectations people will tell their friends etc. However the group of old suits have probably thought rush out an average product and try and cover it up with big budget mass marketing (which is such out of date thinking).
The adverts were so cringworthy it was shocking. Where a guy is in a club and needs a chat up line, so goes on his vodafone 360 service to ask his mates and gets a 'real time' suggestion back and approaches the lady. Oh my god, who though of that, the concept was a joke and the scenario was so staged and fake. It was like the executives said thats what young people will use it for and how people act in clubs. Which agency came up with that and who signed it off because they need to be shot. Its like the Saatchi & Saatchi, Toyota social media fiasco. How out of touch are these people, putting out a weak product and nonsense marketing, they deserve to fail and become nothing more then just data pipes, with such an approach.
