Some research in India, quoted in today’s Telegraph points out that mobile phone usage prompted a demonstrable decline in the population of a honey bee hive.
Now researchers from Chandigarh’s Punjab University claim they have found the cause which could be the first step in reversing the decline: They have established that radiation from mobile telephones is a key factor in the phenomenon and say that it probably interfering with the bee’s navigation senses.
Not good at all. Would you give up your mobile to save the honey bees?
Hardly demonstratable. Here's the sciency bit: the absorption rate of a bee is far higher than the human head (you know SAR ratings) relative to the size of the phone. Yeah we have thick heads 😉 Sticking a great big transmitter/receiver in the middle of a hive is going to have an impact as would putting a human head in front of a radar dish (in relative terms). I don't disagree in saying there could be link between radiation and bees but the experiment is reported as proof and its missing several other factors to claim it as such.
I don't think that mobile phones is the only reason to a decline of the bee-population, but to answer your question: Yes, of course!
This type of research always comes in news but some time it’s not true. Research has published after certain observations and activity by honey bees.
