The queue of developers waiting to get their Samsung Wave

The queue of developers waiting to get their Samsung Wave

After a day packed full of presentations giving a super overview of the new Bada platform, developers queued in their droves to pick up a free test Samsung Wave handset. I’m pretty confident developers are going to take their handsets and rush home to test out their applications and ideas. I sensed a can-do attitude [...]

Samsung Bada: Is it impressing developers?

Samsung Bada: Is it impressing developers?

I am sat amongst the creme of the UK’s mobile developer talent. There is a significant amount of beards in evidence so I know I’m amongst the developer elite. Right now, there’s a chap up on stage walking through the CustomListItem(); procedure and how that corresponds to a UI list item. This isn’t for the [...]

Today is Bada Day

Today is Bada Day

It’s the Samsung Bada Developer day today. I’m heading to their event to listen, learn and report. Bada is, for a long time, been ‘the other one’ that many developers have been aware of. The big challenge for Samsung is getting awareness and then action from developers. And we’re not just talking programmers. It’s not [...]

Good turnout for Samsung’s Bada event

Good turnout for Samsung’s Bada event

It is now standing room only at the Samsung Bada Developer day here in London. The chap there on the left just managed to snare what I think was the last seat. Looking around, the audience are (perhaps surprising for a Friday morning) all glued to the presentations. Posted via email from MIR Live

Apple takes $0.5 billion in iPhone 4 pre-orders in 24 hours

You do have to marvel at the Apple machine. They reported to the market yesterday that they have taken 600,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4. Now, assuming that Apple will net at least 500 pounds per device (or roughly 740 dollars), that equates to 600,000 x 740 = $444,000,000. Shit. Almost half a billion dollars. [...]

Nokia losses: “Competitive, particularly at high-end”

There’s been a lot of head-shaking going on around the industry over the last day or so since Nokia released their statement (below) to the marketplace. Sony Ericsson X10 Mini: The credit card sized Android wonder

Well I have to say I’m a big, big fan of the X10 Mini. I simply loved the device when I came across it at Mobile World Congress back in February and now that it’s arrived in my hands, I can confirm it’s still fantastic. To be clear, the device isn’t for everyone. If you’ve [...]
