My Top 7 Apps: Benjamin Dyer of Powered Now

We have another Top 7 apps submission and this time it’s from Benjamin Dyer, CEO at Powered Now. Here’s a bit more about the company;

Powered Now is the award winning admin app for tradesmen and trade companies. Powered Now gives you the freedom to manage your workload, schedule, projects and billing on the go from your iPhone or iPad.

Benjamin uses the iPhone 6 Plus so let’s have a look through the list…

Swarm: While the digital ‘checkin’ has had its day I tend to do a lot of travelling and I love using the Swarm app from Foursquare. It’s really useful to get tips from other travellers, such as wifi passwords or lists of the best restaurants. I also like the data I can obtain, e.g. where my friends are and details about my day.

Evernote: I’ve been an Evernote user for years, it’s my digital scrapbook, filing cabinet and scratch pad. I’ve tried a lot of other products on the market but the OCR look up and search in Evernote is the industry standard as far as I’m concerned.

Spotify: It’s not the cheapest music streaming service on the market, but it’s the best. The user curated playlists are brilliant and I’m always discovering something new.

Flowdock: Our company Powered Now is based in an office in Budapest while UK staff work at home, so keeping in touch with the team is critical. Flow Dock is our company chat and unified inbox, anything important is posted there (often automatically) and it’s easy to see who is online and what they are doing.

Trello: Trello is our company project planner and to-do list. It’s easy to use and actually makes planning our software releases a pleasure rather than a chore. Lots of other apps make this far too difficult, but Trello is always the first thing I install on a new phone or iPad.

Doorbot: At home I have an internet connected door bell. I supported the Doorbot team on Kickstarter and it’s brilliant. The app allows me to see who’s at the door and even talk to them. I was so fed up with missing deliveries and this has saved a lot of trips to the local post office!

Flipboard: Flipboard is my personalised news service, drawing feeds from multiple sources and occasionally surprising me with new content I didn’t know about. I moved to Flipboard when Google shut down its RSS service last year.

Thanks to Benjamin for his list. I love being organised so flipboard and evernote are big favourites of mine too, off to check out Trello!

If you’d like to contribute your Top 7 Apps or if you are the PR representing someone you’d like to see featured, everything you need to know about participating is right here.
