My Top 7 apps: Anthony Fulgoni from Kii

I’m back with another Top 7 apps list. This time we have Anthony Fulgoni from Kii.

Kii is an Internet of Things (IoT) cloud platform provider, addressing the high-performance demands of innovation in the connected world with an end-to-end backend platform optimised for enterprise applications and the IoT. Working with the world’s largest mobile carriers, such as NTT Docomo, Kii currently serves 140M+ end users worldwide and has data centres in the US, China, Japan and Singapore

TED: Always educational and a great way to be inspired by the ideas and actions of others. The ability to download TED talks means that you never have a dull hour on a train.

Office Lens/OneNote: Combining these two because that’s how I use them. Office Lens is a great and simple tool for scanning anything from a business card to a whiteboard and then syncing it to OneNote. I like OneNote because it’s an excellent note-taking platform with just enough features to be practical, but not too many to be unwieldy.

Evernote: This is my web, pdf and general clip repository. I know it can do more, but I like the best horses for the right courses, which is why I use OneNote too. See something interesting, clip it, synch it, read it later or refer back to it. My data is well organised and perfectly presented.

Asana: I started to use this to manage projects with colleagues and its key that you have colleagues to collaborate on it as it’s a bit rich to be a single person to-do list. Clean interface, not fussy and purposeful, it helps to get things done.

Dropbox: Best storage and file sharing solution there is, which runs on all the platforms I use – enough said!

OpenTable: Lunch and dinner are important parts of business! A nice app that eschews good design and information delivery and really useful when you need to take prospects out but within budget or location.

iPlayer Radio: In the downtime when I’m not watching a TED I can unwind with re-runs of Jo Whiley, 6 Music or a Radio 4 drama.

One further point. I have all of the above on my Mac, my iPad and iPhone and even on an emergency LG phone, so whichever device I’m using I have my key apps available to me. Of course those with cloud storage (notably OneNote, Evernote, Asana and Dropbox) means I always have my projects, documents and other files accessible so if I need my laptop I can grab it, but if I want to keep my jacket lines clean, I can take an iPhone and still have everything to hand.

Thanks to Anthony for his list today. There’s so many here that I use – TED, Evernote, Dropbox… I love the last point about being accessible on all the platforms too. I only use apps that I can use on all mine too 🙂

If you’d like to contribute your Top 7 Apps or if you are the PR representing someone you’d like to see featured, everything you need to know about participating is right here.
