I’ve been talking to Broca about their new service, MyOperator, for a little while.

“Have you got a video of this though?” I asked them, “Can I see it working?”

“We’ll make you one!” said Kersti. Excellent! There’s a lot going on at SMS Text News at the moment with the Unlimited Drinks coming up and the Desert Island feature looming. I wanted to have a poke about with it but I just haven’t had time.

So, top work. Having watched the video, everything I’ve read connected nicely and I like the concept. MyOperator is an on-device mobile operator portal. If it was on my phone, I’d be able to contact Vodafone through it and have them call me to discuss my account, or check my balances and top up. Basically, everything that you can do online via the operator’s IVR system, you can do by MyOperator. On the train. Without having to wait for your call to be answered and go through the arse of identifying yourself and giving your password and so on. You can even find out about special offers and ‘upsell’ yourself on impulse. I like it, a lot.

Have a look at Kersti’s video overview of the service:

(I will, of course, solicit a perspective from our very own Mr Operator.)
