Here’s Kip with a look at a rather innovative text service launched recently: – – – When Ewan asked me to review a SMS text based cocktail recipe service, I must admit to jumping at the chance. I love alcohol – the photos of me on Facebook minus eyebrows are a testament to this! So [...]

I was just talking to question answering service, AQA and apparently — I haven’t managed to confirm this — one of the betting tips that they suggested has yielded one lucky punter a £33,000 win. Nice. Not a bad return for a premium rate text message eh? I will hopefully get some more details soon.

Morra Aarons-Mele, writing in The Guardian’s Comment Is Free, reports that she knew the Vice President’s identity two hours before her exclusive text message arrived from the Obama campaign. Why? It was reported on CNN. (See our original coverage of the concept.) Crazy. The whole point of the Obama VP text scenario was, I thought, [...]

Seriously underwhelmed by BBC’s Olympics text service

Seriously underwhelmed by BBC’s Olympics text service

As Rob commented earlier, the BBC’s Olympics text service looked promising. We’re very good at screwing up and coming last here in the UK. Or nailing the competition to the [...]
