I have been hovering around the Vodafone website this evening. It’s not good practice. I’ve been browsing their price plans, I’ve been looking at the possibilities. I’ve found myself warming to the concept of a Vodafone account. Perhaps more worryingly, I’ve found myself thinking, ‘Oh, 29 pence a minute to another mobile user, what a [...]
Wavering on Vodafone
I’ve got a Vodafone Pay As You Go sim. It’s currently in the LG Shine which I am still testing flaunting on trains and in public places. Yesterday I arrived at Mansefield House, Arrochar, Scotland, filled with delight at the house and it’s location. However, there is no T-Mobile signal. At ALL. None. Now and [...]
Vodafone UK’s rumoured data plan: £7.50 for 100mb/month
Okay here’s an ineresting one about Vodafone…. So right now they’re charging shitloads per meg for data, yes? Well, that’s hopefully about to change. Here is a perspective from SMS Text News reader and Mobizines Manager, James Whatley. He was on the phone to Vodafone’s customer services earlier today… – Y’know that tip I gave [...]
Arun Sarin winds up Ed from BlackFin
Ed of BlackFin sent me the following comment. He was NOT impressed with Arun. Here’s the quote that really wound him up — from a post on Telecoms.com (which I can’t link to because their system is a bit crap with links): Sarin called on the industry as a whole to work faster on its [...]
Arun Sarin: ‘Don’t eat me lunch, please’
Link: 3GSM: Sarin warns unite or lose out ‘We need to move faster, otherwise others will eat our lunch,’ Sarin told delegates at 3GSM’s keynote session in Barcelona. Did anyone catch the Arun Sarin / CEO / Vodafone keynote speech at 3GSM? If so, what did you make of it?

Vodafone: Rumour, speculation –
Just had this in via the anonymous tips form. Perhaps some of those more intimately aware of what’s happening at Vodafone could confirm, deny or rebuke as appropriate? Word on the street is Vodafone are going to start charging for using their home portal. That’s right. No more free Vodafone LIVE. Which is quite frankly [...]
BBC NEWS | Business | Greek scandal sees Vodafone fined
Link: BBC NEWS | Business | Greek scandal sees Vodafone fined A follow-up to the post I made way back in June-time about the news. Mobile phone giant Vodafone has been fined 76m euros ($100m; £51m) by a Greek privacy watchdog. The Greek agency responsible for privacy said Vodafone had failed to protect its network [...]
Who’s problem is a handset problem? Operator issue or user responsibility?
The Vodafone Treo 750v seems to have quite a lot of issues based on the feedback that’s been posted recently to SMS Text News. Which puts me in mind of a conversation I had with a chap from Vodafone a while ago. I should be clear that he wasn’t speaking *officially* for Vodafone. When he [...]
