Ewan posted a while ago about Yammer and that team have been playing with it. Initially we used a fair bit now interest dwindled, until a few days ago that is. Yammer have now have the ability to send updates by SMS via a UK number and also the option to receive all yammers updates (yams?) as well.

If you don’t know what yammer is; it is simply twitter for your organization, however only people who have a work email address can join.

The lack of UK SMS was one of the reasons why the reasons why uptake was low with the team. We are now going to have a look again at the service and I will be doing a full write up on it the next week or so.
