Biography:
Sue Forbes is general manager for Motorola's Good Technology Group. Prior to Motorola’s acquisition of Good, she was Vice President & General Manager for its IBM business unit and was instrumental in driving the adoption of Lotus Notes on mobile phones.
Prior to Good Technology, Sue was the Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for Narus, a software company that provides real-time traffic intelligence for large IP networks.
Before Narus, Sue served as Senior Director of Product Management, Business Communications Group for 3COM. She was responsible for the product line management and P&L of the billion network interface card business. Strategic experience was gained as an associate at McKinsey & Company, Inc. working with technology companies on everything from M&A activities to new product development.
Forbes also served in the British Royal Air Force as an Engineer Officer being stationed in a variety of locations around the world.
Some interesting tidbits about Sue include the fact that she was also the only woman doing an Electronic Engineering Degree at her University and the only woman to ever receive the Queens Medal in the Royal Air Force. She’s also parachuted out of a plane into the English Channel and participated in the Gulf War.
Sue has completed an Ironman triathlon, windsurfs and also actively participates in a long list of other sports. She’s also an avid photographer (she just came back from a camping trip in Alaska to see the grizzly bears catching the spawning salmon) and loves to travel (she’s been to over 80 countries including unusual places like Mongolia, the Kingdom of Bhutan, hiking up Kilimanjaro, and the trans-Siberia railway in winter).
Sue earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BSc in Electronic Engineering from Warwick University, UK.
