I then thought I’d better record the entire review for posterity. I wonder who’s behind the story — what PR company, for example. Or whether it’s an original editorial concept.

The reason I wonder is because almost every phone/PDA listed here is marked as ‘From Free’.

Now, 5 minutes earlier I had been in the o2 shop enquiring as to the cost of the new Blackberry (bottom right on the review). It’s marked as FROM FREE. You CAN have the device free, but you need to commit to 12 months at £45 a month.

Everything’s free. I’ll give you a Bentley Continental GT ‘free’ as long as you commit to pay me £1,500 a month for 3 years.
