So I wandered along the lane of shops at Lakeside ignoring all the irrelevant clothing stores and focusing on the mobile ones. Carphone Warehouse came into sight and the moment it did, I felt a bit dirty.
Their Lakeside store has always been a bit of a … well, a bit of a dump. In fact a lot of their stores appear to be a bit old, a bit rusty, a bit worn.
Case in point: Trying out handsets. It’s a total arse gazing along the Carphone Warehouse shelves and seeing broken, chipped, old crappy handset replicas. I have a serious issue considering paying a few hundred quid for a Sony Ericsson which is being marketed with a tatty broken replica. Not good from one of Europe’s biggest retailers of mobile handsets.
Anyway, interestingly, I saw a new display stand at the window containing a load of handsets. Useful to briefly browse when you’re passing.
