ChargeBox at EasyEverything

It’s a totally smart idea. You pay a bit of money and you can open one of those boxes there — do you see them at the bottom of the picture? The ChargeBox has about 8 of them, each aimed at different phone models.

When you open the relevant box, you see a range of popular power leads for your mobile. So, for example, I’d use the Nokia box to charge up my N90. Or if I wanted, there’s a Blackberry box down at the bottom.

It’s £1 for 40 minutes which I reckon is reasonable. There is nothing worse than HAVING your phone with you but having next to no battery — or a dead battery!

The concept being, you take your phone up to the ChargeBox, you pay your £1 (or £1.50 by text), open the relevant box, stick your phone on charge, close it with the key… and walk away for 40 minutes. Rather useful if you’re sat working away on the internet at EasyEverything, or having a drink with friends somewhere nearby.

Very cool.

  1. Do the machines in EasyEverything still have accessible USB ports? (I haven’t been in an EE for a very long time). If they do, most phones can be charged by the 5.5v available from a USB socket 🙂
