VECOSYS.com is the new TechCrunch UK

Link: VECOSYS.COM

After a hectic few days, Sam Sethi and Mike Butcher are back up and running, covering Web 2.0, mobile and new technology firms in Europe. Although we’re based in the UK, we will be covering the explosion of technology innovation happening across Europe right now. Over the coming days and weeks we will be able to say more about some of the things we have planned. Some of that will be announcing new events, partners and sponsors. In the meantime, Sam and Mike just want to say a huge thanks to everyone who has offered their support, be it moral or material. From here on please show your continuing support by doing one simple thing: subscribe to our email newsletter or our RSS feed. Thank you!

That’s a bit of an arse for TechCrunch — by not immediately appointing a replacement editorial team to TechCrunch UK, it looks to me like they’ve surrendered Europe.

It wouldn’t take much to move Vecosys — I can already see it growing into a heavily read site — to geographically specific sites such as Vecosys UK, Vecosys USA and so on. They could definitely begin to rival TechCrunch.com itself. The Vecosys chaps have the credibility, the attention — and it seems, the sponsors.

Good luck to San & Mike!

  1. Ha Haa, That will make Mike Arrington bring his head out of his Arse now.

Way to Go Sam & Mike, WOO YAY.

Thinking of Mr Arrington and the USA, a point for start ups in Europe is that the dollar will remain weak for quite a considerable time, do not bank on advertising dollars to bankroll your operation [Google, Tribal Fusion, Adbrite etc – all these cheques are worth so much less now].

Makes me think actually that the dollar situation makes it more an more reasonable to consider a Europe specific advertising agency for mobiles/interweb – I wonder if the relative click through rates are better this side of the ocean?.

    Sorry for being off topic.

PS. Apprently Orange are offering the 6230 in white at a very reasonable price, and as the radio advertising on Virgin Rock states ” The beefy hand that stops you at the door” – Ewan can you elaborate on your latest campaign for Orange………….

“The future is bright” – I have to stop this kills me…………………………..
