I’ve been a regular user of SMS Mac for some time. My favourite application is their Apple widget which allows me to send texts (to the UK and abroad) direct from my computer.

I had a note in from the team with news about their recent updates:

We have had an exiting year at SMS Mac.

The latest version of SMS Mac is 2.0, which adds Group SMS. With Group SMS you can send a text message (SMS) to several mobile numbers at once with one click. For example, you can send a text message to all your friends at once to invite them to your birthday party.

SMS Mac now supports the sender ID feature of SMS also in the USA for most mobile networks, including Cingular, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. We now support delivery reports for all mobile networks in the USA.

Please upgrade to version 2.0 if you have not already done so.
The upgrade to version 2.0 is free. Your subscription entitles you to free upgrades of all applications in the SMS Mac suite.

After the introduction of the Address Book plug-in, we added a Dashboard widget when Apple’s Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) was released. We made available a Yahoo! Widget, so the Send SMS widget now also runs on Windows XP/2000! Additionally, we made SMS Mac scriptable by means of the SMS Mac Scripting application.

We can now send you a delivery report by email. The delivery report also contains a copy of the message you sent, so you not only know that the message was delivered but you can also read what you sent!

You don’t want to receive the replies to your message on your mobile phone? You can also receive replies by email. Now you don’t have to hunt for your phone anymore to read a reply.

SMS Mac and the Send SMS widget are Universal binaries and are fully compatible with both the Intel and PowerPC Macs.

We will continue to add new exiting possibilities and features to SMS Mac. The SMS Mac subscription gives you access to and license to use all components of the SMS Mac software set.
