Won’t somebody please buy me a PINK Doro DECT!

Pink and WineWell, it’s not often I see a DECT handset and want to have one in my place. I had a look at the pictures and was then smitten. I hadn’t really heard much about Doro either. Now I am an instant fan.

I’ve got a really, really, BORING grey Panasonic DECT and it’s just rubbish compared to the Doro there. Kudos to the company and to Chris Millington, UK company manager at Doro, for launching something a bit different. Only £40 in your local Currys.

Chris Millington, UK company manager at Doro commented: ‘The UK retail scene is bursting at the seams with clothes, accessories and home furnishings in an array of ‘hot’, ‘tropical’ and ‘acid’ tones. So, we decided to launch a quality handset option for the style-conscious UK consumer and take the latest colour trend into the realm of home technology.”

Good on you.

In a recent YouGov survey[1] investigating consumer perceptions regarding home phones: 71 per cent of UK homemakers regard the current crop of home phones as ‘forgettable’ ‘dull’ and ‘outdated’.

Yes, I’m one of the 71 percent!

The findings also showed that 50 per cent more women than men appear to have a penchant for ‘funky’ and ‘cool’ home phones, whereas 10 per cent more men want their home phones to be ‘high-tech’ and ‘advanced’.

Ahh, I must be getting more in touch with my feminine side.

Now, this is interesting:

Michelle O’Mahoney, Independent Colour Therapist ASIACT (Aura-Soma Institute of Accredited Colour Therapy) previously brand-marketeer at Orange and BT commented: ‘Colour has been proven to affect our thoughts and feelings, pink in particular soothes and nurtures.  The specific shade of pink, which Doro has used, lends itself to the violet-pink end of the spectrum within the colour wheel.  When pink has a violet tint it’s more uplifting and helps us to gain a feeling of completeness and fulfillment. So people can enhance their communications by taking advantage of the therapeutic qualities of pink.”

Bring it on! More violet-pink, please…!

Got 2 mins? Check out the wicked Doro UK site for the DECT.
