Over the past two weeks I have been bombarded with ‘do you read The World’s Leading‘ enquiries from Tech public relations professionals.

Yes I do. It’s right there in my feeds, although some of the lingo is a little bit PRish for my ubergeek understanding.

I have had three discussions with lots of PRs about what sort of phone the World’s Leading author uses.

Some reckoned, from the text, that the writer is clearly one who is accustomed to the silky keys of a shiny new Blackberry.

Others reckon that the author gets by with a piece-of-crap 5 year old Nokia.

One, the other night, swore blind that the writer obviously uses a Sony Ericsson K800 OR, the phone du jour for Tech PRs, a shite Motorola RAZR.

Interesting.

I emailed the blog address to find out. Who knows, I might get a response and turn the theories to reality.

Update: Ok, argument over! I heard back from the very polite World’s Leading author who tells me they’ve ‘got a Motorola. One of the black flippy open ones,’ and as for Blackberry, they definitely don’t use one or any other mobile email device.

  1. My immediate response is “wow, someone still uses a Startac?! they were awesome handsets”…. but I guess they really mean a RAZR or some crap.
