Colibria launches IM for Finnish operator, Elisa

Remember Colibria won that Frost & Sullivan award the other week? Well, no rest for the wickedly good — they’ve just gone live with Finnish operator, Elisa.

Colibria’s service is now available to over 2.2 million subscribers who can all use Windows Live Messenger via their mobile handset. Nice. That deal makes Colibria’s services available to over 300 million people worldwide.

Here’s the science bit…

The new Windows Live Messenger service fuses the feature-rich experience of internet IM with the intimate, engaging nature of mobile. Colibria’s end-to-end Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) solution supports an intuitive, personal experience built on its award-winning server and client technology. The immediate and expressive nature of MIM with dialogue history and emoticons allows for a richer, more community focused messaging experience.
