The browser in the N95 is substantially the same as the iPhone's. So, yes, they can claim to have the best browser. What they don't have is the User Interface to make the best browser into the best experience.

On my N95 8GB the browser can’t cope with large pages without falling over. I have to use a combination of Nokia’s and Opera Mini – which is less than ideal.
I assume this claim from Nokia was meant in the context of the Symbian OS?
My gran cares not a jot about the vagaries of UI implementation. All she knows is that the web experience is great on an iPhone and utter pants by comparison on a Nokia.

If they have the best browser in the industry, why don't they share it with their customers instead of the so-so effort we have to endure?
On S60 it's Opera for me, but the iPhone wins by a mile.
