CNN reports that the FCC in the States is not happy with the ridiculous mobile contract cancellation fees. Good news.
Americans who want to bail out of their mobile phone contracts could be getting a break from those sky-high cancellation fees.
The Associated Press has learned that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission is quietly negotiating with phone companies for customer relief.
Wouldn’t be a lot better to simply switch to a prepaid phone. I was tied to contract cells for more than 10 years in order to avoid the cancellation fees. It just became easier to renew when I needed a new phone. Till last year when I wised up and switched to NET10. Bought an LG phone at Wal-Mart which already came w/ 300 minutes. Now I only pay for what I need – no roaming and no hidden fees. Calls are only 10 cents and texting only 5 cents. Why should we put ourslves at the mercy of a contract provider when we can just take ownership of our cell expenses by switching to prepaid?
With unemployment on the rise and economic uncertainty we’ve had to make an effort to start cut costs. After years of contracts I switched to NET10. I bought the prepaid phone at Wal-Mart and it came with 300 minutes included. Each call is .10 and texting is .5. Best decision I’ve made. I’m saving more than $50 a month!
