The last time I bumped into Steve, founder of The Hot Aisle IT Operations news site, I noticed he had one of those YouGetItBack stickers on his Nokia N95 8GB.
Good thing he did. He left it in a taxi recently:

I have, perhaps, been operating on a far more cynical viewpoint than is necessary. Maybe if I had YouGetItBack stickers, I’d have had a lot more of my handsets returned?

Hmm my keys and most of my expensive things have a Dymo label on it somewhere that says “Reward if found – [phonenumber]” and that didn't cost me a penny (well, someone bought the Dymo tape but it wasn't me!)
It's a good idea, I just don't think it needs a company to do it.

The worry about having your number on your keys is that it isn't a major step to get your identity and possibly your address – there are lots of reverse look up services out there. If someone has your keys and your address that isn't a great place to be in.
We find that good people are time poor and need a very simple fast way to report a find.
