Nokia releases SMS cleaner

Nokia has released a program that will clear a s60 phone that has been infected with the specially crafted SMS message.

Once installed the system will ask permission to run the program, it will then do its stuff and de-install. The phone will then reboot in a clean state.

Maybe SonyEricsson will release a version soon too.

  1. Maybe Nokia et al should actually fix the flaw rather than just offering up removal tools? I for one can only hope that non-US product codes of the E71 get the updates being proposed for the AT&T model which wouldn't suffer this daft security hole.
