SkypePhone S2 now £39.99

This is a very, very good deal for anyone wanting to talk to friends for free (either in the UK or abroad). I might pick one up!

  1. Please, please, please check your coverage @ home & work etc before you buy a phone. Get a free sim & see if you have 3g coverage. I had 2 3 mobile contracts 3 years apart in 2 different regions. I accept no coverage where I live now, but have also found the same in Central London. There is no point in having the potential to make free calls if you only have 2.5 coverage (and sometimes not even that!) You will just have an expensive paperweight!

  2. Chris, the Skype service works exactly the same in 2G as well as 3G service. In fact, you should get more talk time in 2G!

If you have either '3' 3G coverage or Orange 2G coverage you are sorted, as 3 use Orange for 2G roaming.

But yes, the caveat re checking coverage applies to any mobile network, for any service.

    Cheers

    Mike
