DEMO Europe: Photozeen teaches better mobile photography

Demo EuropeMobile Industry Review is reporting live from DEMO Europe being held in Moscow – the start-up pitching event that launched names as big as TiVO, Skype for mobile, Salesforce and Shazam.

View all the coverage.

Photozeen ScreenshotThere are lots of ways to improve your mobile photography, from enhanced camera apps to filtering and sharing utilities, but Photozeen want to “improve your pictures before you take them”. The app – currently only available in the Russian App store for iOS – combines teaching aid, photo ‘quests’ and camera to gently guide you to taking better pictures. Quest are created by professional photographers challenging the user, for example, to compose an image using their favourite colour along with advice on composition and shooting techniques to consider.

There’s also a gallery for inspiration, an option to score images and a game mechanism that awards badges as quests and challenges are completed. You can run a demo of the app online.

An interesting proposition in its own right, the app is also a sign of an increasing trend towards apps that train users in addition to providing a service. This ‘stealth learning’ – sometimes called ‘performance support’ – guides users through tasks so they ‘learn by doing’.

thank you very much for very good article about our Photozeen!
I’d like just give more information about availability of the App. Photozeen is available in 15 countries at the moment, including CIS (Rusisa, Ukraine, Belorus, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazachstan, Kyrgyzstan) + Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland.
