Are you ready to become Nokia’s UK advocacy manager?

I came across what could be a phenomenally exciting job for one of the readers of Mobile Industry Review: The opportunity to join one of the world’s leading digital creative agencies (Wunderman) to spearhead their advocacy work with their huge client, Nokia. (Or, well, Microsoft, now.)

The job role popped up on my LinkedIn this week and I had a chat with Wunderman’s Head of UK Recruitment, Paul Copley, to find out more.

Your job will be to essentially use activities which are underpinned by content marketing to get the message out about Nokia Lumia. I reckon you’ll need to be wickedly media savvy and you’ll need to have a fundamental appreciation for technology and particularly the power and potential of the Lumia device range (especially their 41-megapixel camera monster).

They’re not looking for a geek necessarily though. Indeed I reckon the role might suit someone from a PR or media background who’s looking to make a jump.

There’s a full detailed job description on LinkedIn. I strongly recommend having a look — and for simplicity, I’ve pasted the highlights below.

Can you think of anyone in your network who might like to interview? Drop them a note with this link or send them straight to the LinkedIn job page.

If you’ve read the description and reckon it could be for you, I strongly recommend dropping a note to Paul from Wunderman to have a chat, or hit the Apply button! Good luck!

(And don’t forget to remember me when you’re looking for UK mobile influencers to come along to some swanky Nokia events?)

Here are the highlights of the role:

Working on Nokia you’ll be part of a tight-knit team that operate at a fast pace, love consumer technology and relish a challenge. Nokia has reclaimed its place as a smartphone leader with its critically acclaimed Lumia range; and a client committed to pushing creative boundaries, especially when it comes to social and advocacy activities.

The Lumia range comes with Nokia Music: a free music streaming service. To drive engagement and push our music credentials, the advocacy programme supports Lumia Live sessions – showcasing emerging talent in unexpected spaces throughout the UK, such as rising star Ella Eyre performing at an old-school fairground in Devon: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/lumialive/

Fashion, photography, music and food have been key influencer growth territories in 2014, with the team working hard to create moments of connection. Further advocacy programme highlights include, Great British Chef (Nokia curated event to showcase new app with food bloggers and renowned chefs) and Nokia’s Street Art Tour (blogger tour documenting London street art using Lumia devices, led by influential urban artist).

With up to 41 megapixels, Nokia has arguably the greatest camera phone in the market and we’ve inspired thousands of fans to become greater photographers: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/shotonmylumia/

The opportunity:

We have taken Nokia advocacy from infancy and cultivated a loyal and engaged community of Lumia lovers. Our ambition is to take the programme much further to become the benchmark for advocacy within Nokia’s global markets. It’s a big challenge and we’re looking for the right person to help us achieve it.

As Advocacy and Influencer Programme Lead, you’ll work on an account driven by relationships and experiences; and delivered via content marketing. We want our clients to be able to live in the moment and be relevant to their fans, whilst acquiring new ones.

So, about you:

You’re a fan of consumer technology and relish a role that puts you at the centre of multiple communities. An understanding of how to best position standout brands amongst the stiff competition vying for influencers’ attentions is essential, as is the strategic know-how and industry contacts to get the Nokia story, and it’s range into the hands and minds of the right groups.
