I’m back with another Top 7 apps post, this week I have Terry Cordeiro, Head of Proposition Development – Digital Transformation at Lloyds Banking Group.

Evernote and Scannable: Even though these are two apps from Evernote, I have combined them as their combined value is awesome! I don’t use anything else at work. Evernote is fab for recording and sharing notes across multiple devices whilst Scannable is brilliant for scanning in documents, flip chart notes doodles or similar and then flipping these across to Evernote.
Yahoo News Digest: Stunning design and where I get my daily news fix from. Updates twice a day and includes a fun gamification element.
City Mapper: Brilliant for navigating across London, whether on foot or by public transport. I love the way they focus on the whole journey involved in getting you from A- B . So handy and accurate. The advertising as you type in a location is not great UX though, sort it out City Mapper!
Ski Tracks: For all the skiers out there. Tracks your speed, mileage, distance, maps your route and more using GPS. Just turn it on when you hit the first lift and leave it running. Loads of data to enjoy and great fun to play top trumps with your mates when you hit the après ski! I won’t tell you my max speed!
Banking apps – particularly those from NatWest and Lloyds banking. I know I’m biased but both are well designed, well thought out experiences, perfect for everyday banking stuff and some neat innovation too. Being able to do my banking on my terms makes such a difference.
Whatsapp: because it changed my behaviour completely. No SMS any more. Simple micro comms at its best. Great that you can send your location to someone else when hooking up for an evening out.
Pocket. I am always checking my favourite online feeds (including Mobile Industry Review of course) for the latest tech news and industry information, but I never get the time to read all the interesting articles I come across. I love Pocket because it allows you to save the URL at the click of a button and then access them later, even when offline. So now even my tube ride to work is productive!
