The BlackHawk, made by Auckland start- up BlackHawk Trading Systems, is a small GPS device packaged with SMS technology and an impact sensor. In the event of a crash it will send its street address via SMS to a nominated mobile, such as a parent’s or friend’s.

It comes with a panic button that will send a similar text when pushed. The device can also send texts to parents if their car goes over a certain speed.
