SMS/WAP developer wanted for UK TV/Games properties

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I had this note in the other day:

Hi Ewan,

I am looking for a programmer / developer to do some SMS and WAP based applications and games tied into TV properties that want monetizing
Any ideas where i can advertise or know any one free and based in UK. And when is your next networking session?

Thanks

I’ve kept the chap’s name out for privacy but if you know someone who might be interested, drop me a note (ewan@mobileindustryreview.com) and I’ll connect you.

And about the question on our next networking session, standby for news on that.

Wanted: Your suggestions for a MIR Show location

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Where do you think we should film the MIR Show next?

We were going to go to the Mobyko party tomorrow night and film from there — but alas, it’s been moved.

So we’re locationless at the moment. Do you have any ideas for a nice bar, or funky office in the West End/Central London?

Maybe a nice funky mobile operator / PR / Developer / Mobile marketing office? What d’ya think?

If so: Shoot me an email.

London office space wanted

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Had a note in from Ed Hodges at Howler Tech. They’re looking for office/desk space on a short term lease anywhere in London but preferably from the Waterloo to London Bridge area. They comprise 5 people.

“We’re a professional but fun bunch,” explains Ed, “Well, except for Dan Lane – but you can tell that from the podcasts!”

Heh. You can also see Dan Lane (also an SMS Text News contributor) in full HD joy on yesterday’s videocast.

Ed continues, “We also need space to put a couple of servers which we use for testing. Our main requirement would be flexible leasing terms. The shorter, the better.”

If you have any space, whack a note over to Ed Hodges — his email is: Ed.Hodges at howlertech.com.

And if you happen to have space for us at SMS Text News — as we’re hunting for offices — let me know too, please.

WANTED: Senior Vice President of Sales for Big 3 mobile device manufacturer (USA)

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

I had a note in from Angie Daniel, President of eStaff Solutions, asking if I knew anyone suitable for the following role. A few folk came to mind and I’ve emailed them with details.

But I thought I’d publish it too. Just in case YOU — that’s right, YOU — are the right person for the job.

I don’t know what ‘Big 3′ manufacturer it is but I suspect it may well be Motorola. Nokia, Sony Ericsson then Motorola, yeah? Or am I missing out the likes of Samsung and LG?

If you reckon it’s up your alley, this is what you need, minimum — as well as a penchant for wearing your mobile in a holster (I suspect):

- A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering technical discipline or computer-related field with a Masters Degree in business administration or a business related field from an accredited college or university.
- Have 20+ years experience in wireless terminals sales or similar products through a variety of channels.
- Must also have 8-12 years management experience within the Wireless Telecom handset industry.
- Must be able to write, read, analyze, interpret, present and explain wireless terminals technical product and development materials.

You’ll be heading up sales for North America and reporting to the President/CEO. AND you’ll be required to furnish your favourite mobile industry news and opinion site (that’s SMS Text News, by the way) with regular free handsets. No pressure.

Talk to Angie via angie (at) estaffsolutions.com or mail me and I’ll connect you.
