If you call my Blackberry handset, you still get the mission impossible theme tune playing while the phone is dialing. I haven’t worked out how to remove it, despite the £1.50 a month (or similar) it costs me. So it’s with no small amount of interest that this post by Russell about Background Tones….

Background tones�are music that plays in the background while you are talking on the phone.� Cellebrum, the tech providers, say that they have over 1 million subscribers in India, with 3 million downloads and the typical pattern is to change tones once or twice a month.

I get that. If you offered it to me, I’d certainly play with it. I’m not sure what music I’d use though. I can imagine teens going nuts with it.
