MX Telecom, a leading provider of global SMS text messaging and wireless multimedia solutions, today announced that TicketBean, Inc. has selected MX Telecom’s messaging gateway to implement an SMS Mobile Ticketing and alert service available to the public through www.ticketclub.com. Ticketclub SMS ticket notifications for concerts include Incubus and Snow Patrol, and discount sports events include LA Lakers, LA Clippers, LA Kings, and The Galaxy.

Ticketclub.com is a non-spamming wireless service that informs customers when their favorite events are available for sale at up to 50% below face value. TicketBean, Inc. has developed the technology which allows TicketCLUB.com members to receive personalized notifications and purchase tickets through their mobile phones.

MX Telecom is operating TicketBean’s short code 82587 and providing the messaging gateway and services to deliver TicketBean’s SMS Mobile application..

This looks rather cool.

I have to say, it’d be rather neat to buy tickets via text message. You know when you absolutely, positively, reeeeeeelly want tickets for something? You want the tickets, not the crap — you don’t care for fancy webpages or ‘click here to skip intro’ graphics or any of that rubbish. You simply want to buy the tickets, there and then. Especially if you’re sat having a meal with friends and you get an alert through saying ‘Want some Snow Patrol tickets? Reply with the number of tickets..’ You can pose the question, get agreement and bish-bash-bosh, before you know it, be singing along to ‘Chasing Cars‘. And if TicketBean have developed a sufficiently compelling service, they could well be on to a winner. (I can’t check it out as I’m sat in Scotland right now).
