I had the above enquiry in from an SMS Text News reader who’s on the hunt for one of those transmitters that can broadcast content – pictures, videos and so on, to phones in an area. I see them around all the time used with various marketing efforts. Any ideas where I can point the reader for a supplier in the UK?
If they are looking for expertise in this area, as opposed to just a box, then speak to Rachel or Jonathan at Hypertag.
They could also check out the award winning Qwikker.

Talk to James Martin in the UK
You should check out Qwikker
incidentally I have no vested interest in promoting Hypertag. ahem.
Hmm. Do they have permission to spam people using bluecasting (aka bluespamming)? Legally, it’s still a very very grey area indeed. I wouldn’t risk it until I knew for sure that the system could be opt-in and that the Information Commissioner had approved it.
Hypertag has a work around for opting in. Most of the others don’t bother 🙁
Those looking for smth permission-based and enabling personalisation of deliveries, try check with http://www.terimobile.com and their TeriZone service.
opt-in is a must, even leaving out information commissioner’s decision – just for your own sake don’t spam people.
as for hypertag, I somehow have failed to see their work on opt-in, i mean other than just warning people about approaching a “danger” zone 🙂
