Sponge goes live with ‘Txt the Papa’ for Papa John’s

After the Papa John’s story we brought you recently, here’s another, UK-specific:

Papa John’s UK has launched a text-to-win competition offering consumers the chance to win a year’s supply of pizza. Nice. Do try their chicken dippers too. 😉

The campaign, which invites consumers to ‘Txt the Papa,’ will give away a year’s supply of pizza every day for the length of its nine week run. Creative agency Crossing O’Sullivan is behind the promotion, which is being powered by mobile marketing solutions provider Sponge.

You’ll be able to find out all the details on the competition via Papa John’s take-away menus.

“Papa John’s has made it very easy to enter this competition – consumers can text the number on menus while waiting for their order,” said Douglas McDonald, Client Services Director at Sponge.

“They’ll get a confirmation text thanking them for their entry and one winner will then be picked at the end of each day.”

I would.

Just in case you’re keen to give this a go (I know one SMS Text News contributor, Dan Lane, has tried them out recently), you can be in with a chance to win by texting PAPA to 86100. Then it’s in the hands of the Gods. Or, more specifically, Sponge’s verified random draw engine technology that will pick each winner.

It’s Friday, you know. Pizza tonight? 😉

(Alas, they don’t deliver to SMS Text News Towers — I did phone, but Oxford Street is a little out of their way. So no Papa John’s for the podcast this evening.)
