I just got a text from my mother. She’s got my brothers together and is taking them — and potentially, me (hence the text) — to a restaurant in Billericay tonight.

Why is this relevant to you, dear reader?

Well, because I received notification of this by text.

By *text message*. From my mother’s iPhone. From her own hand.

This, from the same mother who used to struggle to send ‘yes’ using T9 with her Motorola a few years ago.

Fantastic. It is really good to see just how effective the iPhone interface is for the older generation who aren’t silly enough to try and learn the cryptic user interfaces of your average Nokia, Samsung or Motorola.
