RumourMill: STOP PRESS – HTC Touch Diamond wasn’t made by HTC – STOP PRESS

A news piece over at msmobiles.com has it that HTC did not design their best selling mobile phone to date, the HTC Touch Diamond.

Instead a third party namely One & Co was responsible for the handsets look, with proof of this claim lying in the depths of their website in a case study to be seen here.

From recent firsthand dealings with HTC there hasn’t been any reference to them at all, or even an accreditation in the overall process.

The news website has it that Horace Luke from HTC was down as responsible for the design of HTC Diamond and was perhaps mis-accredited as such. Where from our knowledge, Horace came across from Microsoft where he was on the team for designing the Windows Mobile platform.

We’re assuming the outer casing and design behind the Diamond was chiefly left to One & Co after looking at their website, whereas everything else was still down to HTC.

Still, it’s an interesting turn of events and is an eye opener to us.

We’ll just have to see how this plays out and how HTC could spin this.

Stay tuned for more, in the mean time see more on the story by visiting here
