The ZumoDrive iPhone client has arrived

The ZumoDrive chaps have been kind enough to send me over a copy of their iPhone client. I am thoroughly excited at the possibility of being able to ‘use’ my 60gb’s worth of iTunes library on my 16gb iPhone.

If you missed the ZumoDrive overview I published over the weekend, find it here.

  1. Ewan, reading your full review, if you want the ability to stream a large iTunes library to your iPhone 3G, you should try Simplify Media – lets you stream everything that's not DRM protected via wifi and 3G, and even lets you share your library with friends!

I've been using it for months now streaming files from 3 different iTunes libraries totalling about 120GB – no problems. Worth a punt at £3.99!

  2. Ewan:

Please post your results. I am very interested in having one service that works for my files, photos and music on my three devices, my laptop, my dell mini (8GB)and my iphone(8GB). I would love to know your experience with the music on the iphone when on Edge.

I did try Simplify Media but as my music is on my laptop, which is my primary computer, and most times when I wanted to use my iphone to listen to music I don't have my laptop on and connected it isn't very useful. Also I don't want different apps for my files, music and photos.

I tried Sugarsync, which was OK for the iphone (didn't do well on edge), but they don't help on the netbook.

I am cautiously optimistic that my quest will end with Zumo, but I will wait till I hear more from users and they release their iphone app.
