The BlackBerry Curve 9380 has arrived

This one just arrived this morning. I have to say in pretty impressed with its slight form factor. I am, of course, a huge QWERTY fan so I’m looking forward to seeing how I get on with the 9380 given it’s a full touchscreen device. I will let you know how I get on…

I just went to the Vodafone store in the town I live in in Holland. The new BB was not there yet, but the old ones were, as was the iPhone, and as of today the Lumia 800. All of the other devices look about 2 generation out of date compared to the Lumia.

When I see this image of the BB touch device, that feeling gets worse. I don’t understand the appeal of a non qwerty BB at all. It seems to be their one redeeming feature these days. Am I wrong?

I think there’s definitely a sub-section of the BlackBerry consumer base who will want a touchscreen… for me though (and I haven’t used the Curve yet!) it’s all about QWERTY!
