Ubuntu for Android’s product manager gives us a walkthrough demo

Last night at the Ubuntu Mobile launch I was also able to get a proper look at the company’s Ubuntu for Android product. This was announced last year to a lot of fanfare at Mobile World Congress and it’s been coming on in leaps and bounds.

The product enables you to install a full desktop version of Ubuntu on your high-end Android phone. This then allows you to dock your phone with a screen, keyboard and mouse giving you full desktop capabilities. It sounds good, but I found then until I’d actually seen it working, I didn’t appreciate the flexibility.

Which is why I asked the product manager, Richard, to give us a brief walkthrough. Here we go:
