John Sculley’s Obi Worldphone MV1 is on the way

I’m looking forward to receiving a review handset from the team at Obi Worldphone. This is the company co-founded by John Sculley, the former CEO of Apple. If you recall, he gave up selling sugared water to join Apple at a momentous time for the company and the personal computer industry. (A quick look at Halt and Catch Fire on Amazon’s Prime TV will remind you of those times).

John’s back – and this time he’s looking at the mobile world. Specifically Obi Worldphone have created the MV1 4G smartphone. It’s Android, it looks great and, speaking of Amazon, you can get it exclusively from them for a rather competitive £119.

The device has been designed by the creative agency, Ammunition (the guys behind Beats by Dre) and it features a 5″ IPS screen along with Gorilla Glass 3. I’ll tell you more once it arrives.

If you’re looking for a competitively priced Android handset, either as a primary or backup/secondary phone, this could well be an impulse purchase 😉
