MWC: What device highlights did you miss?

So, early last week I predicted that next to nothing from Mobile World Congress would break through into the mainstream media.

I was right, as far as I could see, based on my own anecdotal review of the media last week.

But that’s not a bad thing – the mobile industry is hugely profitable and keeps a lot of people employed around the world. Instead, I wanted to highlight the ‘also ran’ status of the industry compared to a lot of the activity happening above-the-line or over-the-top, as the phrase goes.

If you didn’t make it to Barcelona for the event, what did you miss?

Well, in device terms… not a lot.

There were a few eyebrow raises to look at, though. And for that, it’s worthwhile checking out Ben Wood’s brief walk-through. Here it is:

Back in the good old days I would bump into Ben and his colleagues from CCS Insight at such shows and exchange ideas. It was always interesting to see where they were putting their focus. No surprise then that he’s given a clear and easy briefing of things that caught his attention. Thanks for the great updates, Ben!

Ben and the team have a lot more insights for you to check out on their MWC page.
