Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold: Yes, nicely done Samsung

Oh and breathe a sigh of relief. There's life, yet, in the mobile ecosystem.

Yes, I know Huawei has already knocked out an eyecatching trifold phone, but it's really nice rather exciting to see Samsung come to the party as well.

Whilst I reckon the (roughly) $2,400ish price point is going to have a lot of enthusiasts taking a bit of a pause before slapping their money down, I think it's really good for the wider marketplace.

We want to see this level of innovation.

We want to see experimentation by product delivery from the likes of absolute giants such as Samsung (and Huawei).

We want new ways of working and using mobile devices to be encouraged, explored and investigated.

Just looking at the Dex integration with the Samsung TriFold really does show the potential of a usable mobile office environment, especially if you add an external keyboard and mouse.

Rather usefully, Mrwhosetheboss has done a brilliant video unboxing and overview which, if you're even half interested, is definitely worth a look:

South Korea apparently gets the phone first (12th December) followed by other markets in due course.

Check out the official Samsung Press Release for all the details on specifications and additional features.

Nice work, Team Samsung.

(No pressure, Apple)
