Scoopt invites Flickr members to tag their for-sale pictures

Scoopt is inviting Flickr members to tag their images with keyword ‘scoopt’. This enables Scoopt to push tagged images to buyers in direct response to demand. Scoopt will also encourage buyers to use Flickr as a commercial image resource.

Hmm, I wonder, I wonder. This is a wickedly cool concept — however I’m concerned that if you have 100,000 users all uploading 2 pictures a day with the tag ‘scoopt’, that’ll be come slightly unmanageable.

The other perspective is that effectively, Scoopt are seeking to monetise Flickr. By adding the tag, you tell everyone that the image is for sale (via Scoopt), which could well be rather useful.
