Text a taxi service launched in Malaysia
Sometimes the simplest systems are the best….
Link: SMS taxi service launched
Under the service, passengers can ask for a taxi pick-up by sending their addresses to a message centre via the SMS number 33030.
The SMS will then be recorded and a request sent out via radio to all the taxis in the vicinity.
Putrajaya Berhad public transport cooperative chairman Zakuan Harun said passengers could expect a reply to their SMS within 10 seconds.
“If there is a taxi available, an SMS will be sent out to them informing them of their taxi number as well as the time it will need to reach their house or address.
