We’re off to Nott Tuesday next month

Do you live in and around Nottingham?

You know, Sherwood Forest-and-that? 😉

Good. I’ve got a networking event for you. Yes, tech networking in the heart of Robin Hood country.

The inspired name of the event is Nott Tuesday, held every 2nd Tuesday of the month. The inaugural event is on the 10th of February and we’re going to be there. Me, at least. I haven’t checked the travel schedules of the rest of the MIR team yet.

Did you know that the city of Nottingham has the second highest GDP per capita in England? Second only to London? Well it’s time to invigorate Nottingham’s tech scene.

And the man to do it? Uber triathalon and business guru, Adam Bird, MD of mobile services firm, Esendex.

Adam comments on the Nott Tuesday site:

I have been successful in Nottingham but always felt I’ve been fighting the conventional business help offered by Business Link and general business forums and network events.

Yeah. Fat lot of use Business Link and their associated events are. It’s almost helpful meeting window cleaners and estate agents.

So balls to the nothingness that went before it. Adam’s blowing it all away with Nott Tuesday.

He’s on the hunt, of course, for some tech notables who’d like to come along — who either live in the area, or are prepared to do the trip. If that’s you, then look up the Nott Tuesday site for the details, talk to Adam and come along.

PR Supremo, Patrick Smith of Joshua PR lives nearby so I’m going to be bending his ear — if Adam hasn’t already. Who else lives in and around Nottingham?

  1. I'm up there every weekend and often make it a long weekend so the prospect looked good – until you mentioned the date. Wednesdays and the 2nd Tuesday of the month are the only essential days that I'm required to be back down south in the office.

    Otherwise I'd love to go.
