Thief demands $185k mobile ransom; settles for $200

Heh, I picked this one up via TechDirt… you know it’s not going to go well for the thief, just by reading the headline, don’t you? 😉

Apparently, the ridiculousness of the request soon became apparent, as he was quickly negotiated down to $200 ransom. Of course the whole negotiation was taken place with police listening, and so it was the police who greeted him at the transaction location, rather than a woman with $200.

The judge, with a sense of humour, apparently set bail at $185k .. then reduced it to $100k.
