Now then — that day has arrived. Steve Jobs has resigned from Apple. It is only right to point out that the chap has made a phenomenal difference to the planet. I wish him every success, in particular with his health.

I was just casting a casual glance over Reuters before I headed off to bed and saw some breaking news — Steve Jobs has resigned: Their story points out that Tim Cook has been elected as CEO. Mashable has the full Steve Jobs resignation statement.
It won’t be long before another Apple press conference will be upon us. Next week’s announcement appears to be a run-of-the-mill carrier announcement (even though it’s Verizon).
