My Top 7 apps: Todd Carothers from CounterPath

I’m back with another Top 7 apps post. This week we have Todd Carothers of CounterPath sharing his favourite apps with us.

CounterPath’s Unified Communications solutions are changing the face of telecommunications. An industry and user favorite, Bria softphones for desktop, tablet and mobile devices, together with Stretto Platform server solutions, enable operators, OEMs and enterprises large and small around the globe to offer a seamless and unified over-the-top (OTT) communications experience across both fixed and mobile networks.

Let’s have a look at his apps!

imageStarbucks: I’m sure I’m wearing the glass away on my phone due to how much I’m always tapping this app! I’m on the 5.45am train everyday so it goes without saying that the Starbucks loyalty app and a good cup of coffee are essential.

Fitbit: It can be difficult to fit anything else in when you’re balancing your work and family lives, but the Fitbit app and tracker remind me of my fitness goals and keep me updated on how active I’ve been, which is something that can easily slip your mind after a day’s work.

Nest: Nest takes all the little household things you have to worry about and puts them all together in one place, with a real easy user interface. Not only does it do things like save you energy on your heating, it also has a lot of security features, such as monitoring your home when you’re not in and alerting your phone when smoke or carbon monoxide is detected. This app is a literal lifesaver!

Bria: Of course, I’m biased, but my working day would be extremely difficult without Bria. The app sits on your phone, tablet and desktop and lets you pick up conversation with your colleagues seamlessly across any device. I’m forever on the move, but Bria stops me from ever being out of the loop. As far as my colleagues are concerned I’m always accessible – they don’t know that it’s 5am for me and I’m sat in an airport lounge!

Music: Not many people will know this about me but I’m a huge Punk Rock fan. If I’m not in a meeting or on a call you can guarantee I’ll have my head phones in, listening to the likes of The Clash, Blink 182 or Green Day.

Uber (and other travel apps): Like I said, I’m on the road a lot so things like Uber, Air BNB and TripIt do well to take a lot of the hassle away. Between these and the United Travel app I’m all set for my next business trip.

LinkedIn: LinkedIn is invaluable 24/7, as I’ve always got my work hat on. Business does not stop and neither do I. LinkedIn helps me keep track of colleagues, important industry news, finding new business opportunities and other useful info.

Thanks again to Todd for his apps list. I love Fitbit for keeping my fitness on track!
