Israeli politicians pounding the text

Link: Arutz Sheva – Israel National News.

Kadima party activists started pushing voters to go to the polls Tuesday afternoon by sending out hundreds of SMS messages to cell phones.

Not just pounding the streets, these party officials are using SMS.  You know I talked to both the Conservative and Labour political parties about this for the recent election.

I think I’m accurate in saying everyone I spoke to was ‘interested’ but simply not actually engaged.  Just like the apathetic voters 😉  Maybe one day UK politicians will actually grasp hold of the technology.  You never know, perhaps some are using it and I just haven’t remembered or read about it.  Either way, the parties need to be doing it now.  There’s no use getting to 6 weeks before the general election only to find out you only hold 10,000 opted-in mobile numbers.  They need to be campaigning now to attract and retain opted-in numbers, keep their databases fresh.. and when it comes to the election… use the medium sparingly and intelligently.
